Overview
The role of the post holder is to undertake the duties of a Fire Safety trainer/advisor.To ensure the Organisation meets its statutory and common law obligations the post holder must provide Specialist fire safety advice, devise and deliver statutory safety training in regards to Fire safety /To conduct Fire Risk Assessments across the Trust and assist in Evacuation drills.

Formal Qualifications, education & training required
- Degree / HND qualified (or relevant experience).
- A sound knowledge of current fire safety legislation and guidance which is updated through continued professional development.

Essential skills and competencies
- Knowledge of HTM 05. Up-to-date knowledge and awareness of key issues in fire precautions.
- Knowledge of the Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order 2005and the Risk Assessment Procedure.

Job Title: Senior Fire Safety Advisor
Overview
To provide a strategic lead to the trust in ensuring the delivery of a comprehensive first-class Fire Advisor Service, you will be responsible for driving the trust to take all reasonable steps to protect patients, staff, visitors and property against the dangers of fire, and to act as a technical expert.
To promote leadership and ownership of Fire Safety management throughout the organisation including working closely with the clinical staff, portering, and estates team to ensure Trust risks are managed as an integral part of Fire Safety management.
Using expert Fire safety knowledge, the post-holder is responsible for advising managers, representatives and staff on any and all issues relating to fire safety, and for the development, delivery and coordination of fire safety training for staff.

Formal Qualifications, education & training required
- To hold a NEBOSH general certificate
- To have undertaken FRA course
- To be qualified to GIFireE or higher (MIFSM).
- Hold Corporate membership of the Institute of Fire Engineering, MIFSM or NAHFO for Senior Safety Advisor role
- Relevant Degree level education
- CIPFA fire safety qualification
- Qualified in a teaching capacity, and or with proven experience in a training role within a Healthcare environment.

Experience of undertaking Fire Risk Assessments. Extensive fire safety experience gained within the Fire Brigade/Armed Forces/Health and or Local Fire Authority or comparable industrial organisation.
Job Title: Fire Safety Manager
Overview
To act as the Lead specialist advisor on all Fire Safety related matters for the Trust. Inform the Trust Board and Managers on fire prevention issues and advise the senior management team on their roles and responsibilities under fire safety legislation. Responsible for the promotion and monitoring of fire safety standards within the organisations in line with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. To manage a team of fire safety advisors ensuring that annual fire risk assessments are carried out. To manage the fire warden and responsible person fire training programmes. Ensure that all sites conduct an annual fire evacuation exercise.
