Overview
- To provide an efficient and professional Operational car park and security service for the Trust under the direction of the Duty Car Park Security Supervisor.
- To act as a relief Car Park security supervisor.
- To undertake the active operational role as part of the Responsive Security Service under the direction of Duty Portering and Duty Car Park Security Supervisor.
- Respond to and investigate any incident where crime (or suspected crime) is being perpetrated on Trust Car Park areas.
- A key element of the post is to provide a high standard of customer care and service to ensure the correct impression of the Trust and the hospital.

Job Title: Operational Security and Car Parking Manager
Overview
- The Operational Security and Car Parking Manager is responsible for the delivery of the Trust’s travel and transport strategy which includes management of roadways, car parking, operational security and the cashiers function.
- Working closely with the Trusts local security management specialists (LSMS) who will oversee security.
- The Cashier’s function will also have close associations with financial management.
- To line manage staff in the department ensuring manpower resources are efficiently managed to address the business needs within operational budget and liaising with the portering Coordinator when additional manpower resources are required for specific situations.
- Ensuring that the various security and car parking systems and databases are managed and used effectively and in accordance with standard operating procedures to ensure they support the Trust and that staff are able to carry out their duties of caring for patients.
- Effective and confidential communication is essential for the smooth running of the service and to give confidence in the services provided.
- The post holder will document Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) which will be developed and continually reviewed in conjunction with the LSMS, Support Services Manager, Portering Co-ordinator and the Telecommunications Manager.
- The post holder will demonstrate a high level of initiative in organising his/her own workload, making decisions and taking subsequent action.
- It is important the post holder has a clear understanding of the need for a high level of confidentiality and the protection of data.

Job Title: Transport & Car Parking Manager
Overview
- Ensure full compliance will all relevant regulations, guidance statutory requirements and legislation regarding Transport and Car Parking.
- These services must be delivered in a safe, effective and affordable manner and will require working with the staff at all levels within the organisation,
outside agencies such as Environmental Health, local Councils, service providers, sector experts and members of the public. - The job holder will have high levels of autonomy and the ability to act independently on areas within their fields of expertise.
- Key to the role is the ability to refine regulations into workable policies and procedures, to provide advice and guidance on them and training/education to implement best practice across the whole of the organisation.
- Control of budgets and delivery of income targets are key performance indicators for the role
