Overview
This City & Guilds accredited course has been developed to provide delegates with a basic knowledge of electrical theory as well as an understanding of electrical machine principles and isolation requirements of electrical plant for mechanical work.
Who is the course aimed at?
This course is aimed at those working within a mechanical and electrical environment who would benefit from increased awareness of electrical principles and practices as part of their current role. It is also a good foundation course for those likely to undertake other electrical courses.

- Electrical safe systems of work including practical isolation exercises
- Electrical circuit theory and practical use of measuring instruments
- Low Voltage protection devices
- Requirements of BS7671:2008 (2015)
- Single and three-phase motors and associated starters
- Inverter drives
- Connection and verification of electric motor wiring
- Motor fault finding
- Final assessment exercise
