The South African manufacturer curates a wide range of products ‘using state-of-the-art techniques and methods for all sectors in the healthcare industry, ensuring that each piece is durable and built to last’. Together with Knightsbridge Furniture, experts in manufacturing furniture for over 80 years, it says it has created ‘a range of healthcare-focused products influenced by current interior design trends, while creating a safe, relaxing, and mood-boosting environment for patients and residents’.
The Elan chair, for example, has ‘a modern yet sophisticated silhouette with a solid and weighted design, and smooth edges – key to providing a safe environment, particularly in mental health facilities. Knightsbridge Furniture said: “Rotationally moulded, hygienic ,and easy to clean, the Elan chair is not only practical, but takes inspiration from modern designs to eliminate the overly clinical feel often seen in these facilities.
The collaboration has also produced the complementary Esprit coffee table, designed for communal spaces, and has a strong, durable stance.
Alan Towns, CEO of Knightsbridge Furniture (pictured left), said: “We’ve worked within the healthcare industry for over 65 years, always focusing on catering to specialist wards and facilities, providing them with pieces that meet the needs of the end-user, without compromising on style and comfort. We push boundaries and implement interior design trends into these spaces. With Cranium Medical Products, we can continue to create brand new products that will lead the way in the healthcare industry.”
Allen Cliffe (shown right), the owner of Cranium Medical Products, added: “This collaboration signifies a blend of our shared values in innovation, safety, and aesthetics, all aimed at creating environments that foster healing and tranquillity. With roots that connect us deeply to the UK, this partnership feels like a natural extension of our mission to enhance well-being globally through thoughtfully designed, sustainable furniture.”
