Job Title: Project Officer
Overview
- To be responsible for the management, design, development, and implementation of a range of minor capital construction projects under £1m in value.
- To act as a professional-client liaison officer and/or project manager for capital new build and refurbishment construction projects.
- The main location for the post may change depending on the workload and location of projects.

Formal Qualifications, education & training required
- Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent
- RSA in computer literacy, typing, & Databases
- City and Guilds qualification or proven level of experience, equivalent to NVQ level 3
Essential skills and competencies
- The post holder will be required to provide, receive, and exchange technical and specialist information in relation to minor capital projects.
- The post holder will be required to communicate technical information to non-specialists (both verbally and via paper/electronic transmission)
in a manner that allows them to easily understand and interpret proposals. - The post holder will be required to have a basic knowledge of healthcare construction codes, standard and alternative procurement routes, and understand the statutory and legal processes in respect of site development.
- The post holder will be required to negotiate and agree on project proposals with clinicians and other user representatives.
- The post holder will be required to lead and direct multi-disciplinary project teams, external professional design consultants, and contractors.
Essential experience
- The post holder will have experience of working as a project manager within the construction industry
- Design and management of Engineering/Construction projects
- Familiarisation with standard forms of contracts used in building and engineering contracts (NEC3).
