In the last 45 years, Gilling Dod Architects have specialised in the delivery of healthcare projects and has become one of the countries leading Healthcare Architectural Practices. Our projects cover the full spectrum of Healthcare buildings and as such we have amassed a considerable resource of knowledge and experience, not only in terms of technical application and design but also an understanding of the issues facing healthcare providers in delivering what can be sometimes challenging and diverse services. At Gilling Dod, our Architects and Interior Designers are passionate and dedicated to delivering high quality, innovative and sustainable buildings with exceptional design that creates the best patient experience possible. The Practice has over £1.7 billion of live or completed Healthcare Projects in its portfolio undertaken in the last 5 years. We have completed work in both the Public and Private Sectors therefore have a broad understanding of the business of Healthcare delivery, including the sometimes varying aspirations and needs of different client groups. We have been successful in all manner or procurement models including Traditional, LIFT, PFI, PRP initiatives across the UK.
Throughout the last 12 years we have been successful under all iterations of the Department of Health’s Procure Framework (Procure21/21+/P22/P23) with Principle Supply Chains (PSCPs) including projects the in pilot regions. This role exposes has exposed us to the full supply chain within the industry and all the
shared learning that brings, in terms of construction, buildability, specification and innovation from the market place. All of this proves we actively pursue a partnering approach to all aspects of our work and ensures we are constantly learning and developing our exemplar solutions/best practice.
Our compliment of 101 highly qualified staff is made up of Architects, Interior Designers and Architectural Technicians who are able to draw on a wealth of knowledge and experience with many staff designing in Healthcare for the majority of their careers. This give us a unique UPS, in that any additional resource we need to draw on at a time of high demand, subsequently means that individual will be able to’ hit the ground running’ and be fully embedded in the process of healthcare design delivery, as they will not be being transferred from another ‘team’ in an unrelated sector (i.e retail, education, industrial).
An imbedded Interior Design Practice has proved very successful in offering a new design perspective to our clients, marrying as it does, an eye to designing healing environments that enrich the patient experience, as well as the technical application of fixtures and finishes.
