Job Title: Domestic/Support Services Supervisor
Overview
To provide a flexible supervisory service throughout all areas of the Hospitals and Health Centres in accordance with Health & Safety, control of infection and other requirements as specified by the Trust. The post-holder will work as part of the Domestic Services team ensuring that a clean and safe environment is available for staff, patients and visitors in accordance with the National Standards of Cleanliness for the NHS.

Formal Qualifications, education & training required
- NVQ Level 2 Cleaning Buildings and Interiors or equivalent time served experience
- ILM Level 2 in first-line management or equivalent qualification
- Basic training in COSHH, Manual Handling and general Health and Safety.
- Basic IT qualification
- GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths
Essential skills and competencies
- Working knowledge and understanding of risk assessment, COSHH, Manual Handling and general Health and Safety.
- Able to undertake a range of administrative tasks including accurate record-keeping, timesheets, work rosters, ordering and stock keeping.
- A sound understanding of Domestic Services and the importance of customer care.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of relevant Human Resource issues. i.e. Terms and Conditions of employment.
- Ability to create and save documents using word, excel and outlook.
- Ability to supervise and lead a number of staff working a variety of work rosters and working hours.
- Ability to deliver a high-quality service to a range of locations.
- A good organiser with the ability to prioritise, delegate and monitor services.
- Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Able to negotiate effectively with staff and customers to resolve problems and initiate changes.
- Capable of implementing change management and working arrangements necessary for service improvement.
- Capable of a pragmatic approach to solving difficult situations and problems.
- Ability to work under pressure.

Overview
The post holder will work as part of the Estates and Facilities Department, working within the Domestic Department. They will manage the operational elements of the department, ensuring that a well co-ordinated, professional and customer-focused service is provided to all stakeholders, both internal and external. The key priority will be the responsibility for the day to day supervisory management, training and development of the Domestic Supervisors and maintaining excellent relationships with stakeholders. The post holder will work closely with the Assistant Domestic Services Manager, as well as covering in their absence.

- Relevant Supervisory/ First Line Management qualification

- Have the ability to influence and persuade colleagues from a range of different levels within the Trust and external stakeholders.
