General Overview: Responsible for managing major capital developments of any value as required. Working within the Estates Department, you will lead a team responsible for the delivery of comprehensive projects across the Trust’s estates, which will be responsive, efficient, financially effective, and to a high standard. Advising on the resources required to meet the capital program. Required to provide solutions to complex engineering & building projects at the design stage and to apply personal knowledge, experience, and initiative to overcome complex problems that develop with project planning.
Skills: Self-motivated with the ability to lead a team or to work on own initiative, management and negotiation skills, team leadership ability, ability to co-ordinate and project plan work of self and others involved in projects. Good verbal, written and interpersonal skills. Formulation and analysis of reports on engineering specialities.
Essential experience (based on AfC person specification):
At least 5 years’ previous experience in a post as senior estates person, or a similar position. Project management experience, understanding of the principles of risk management, Health and Safety and Fire Safety Management procedures, Demonstrate significant specialist engineering experience within a large and complex estate, A working knowledge of NHS engineering standards, Building Energy Management System experience, experience of writing specifications for maintenance and installation of refurbishment works and in the supervision of works contracts. Experience of AutoCAD, Microsoft excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, and the operation of database systems.
