General Overview: As a member of the Estates Department, you will be responsible for the effective management and compliance of engineering services within the Trust, with a comprehensive, multi-disciplined knowledge of all health care services, and relevant statutory guidance will be required to perform this role. You will assist the Engineering Manager in ensuring a cost-effective and efficient engineering maintenance service is provided and deputise for the Maintenance Manager in times of absence. You will maintain a high degree of flexibility in being responsive to the Trust’s needs.
Skills: Negotiation, Project Management, Contract Management, Operations Management, Procurement, Business development, intermediate level use of PC based systems including MS office.
Responsibilities: Provide site technical knowledge to the Capital Engineering team, project engineers/consultants, Plan and execute maintenance and new works projects liaising with Trust departments and contractors, write and review policies acting on all relevant statutory guidance, Incorporating into maintenance and new work activities, Manage and lead a direct labour force of internal staff and outside contractors, arrange suitable and relevant training for Estates staff, Coordinate with other departments, outside contractors, auditors and inspectors to include the planning of inspections, receipt of findings and acting upon recommendations contained therein. write and present Engineering papers for trust meetings up to board level, operate and interrogate Building Management Systems (BMS) that control site services, Participate in the Trust on-call rota for out-of-hours estate management.
