Job Title: Sterile Services Supervisor
Overview
The Post holder will work as a member of the Sterile Service team and will provide support to the Deputy Production Manager and Production Manager in the day to day operational management of the department. Doing so will ensure that items required are processed promptly to users in accordance with accepted national and trust standards, policies and procedures. To ensure safe successful delivery of a first-class quality service of the full range of Sterile and Decontamination Services to NHS trust and other service users including adhering to infection prevention and control legislation is required throughout the department.
- The individual is required to communicate and establish a good working relationship with colleagues and customers and supervise staff, guiding and helping them fulfil their duties and reporting staffing inefficiencies to the Deputy or Production Manager to enable product throughput.
- Participate in induction and training of new staff and assist with technician training when required using a range of methods.
- Accurate record-keeping is essential as the individual is required to make legible records of records such as appraisals, work performance, sickness reviews, production and non-conformance reports

Job Title: Sterile Services Operational Manager
Overview
The Sterile Services Operational Lead will:
- Be responsible and lead the organisational wide decontamination of all surgical instruments, endoscopes and medical devices.
- Be responsible for the day to day management of the TSSU
- Be decontamination lead for the Trust
- Be responsible for the cost-effective purchase, decontamination and management of all surgical instruments, endoscopes and clinical medical devices that are affected by decontamination across the Trust.
- Provide professional advice, innovative professional leadership, and guidance to the Trust on the strategic issues relating to the management of all decontamination of medical devices. This includes acting as an expert resource for all staff within the Trust.
- Prepare business cases, reports and SLA’s, funding bids, management meetings and reviews.
- Have an active role in the Trust’s Infection Control Committee, Medical Device Procurement, and the Executive Decontamination Committee.
