Job Title: Clerk of Works (Building/Electrical/Mechanical)
Overview
- To assist the Estates Development Team to provide effective delivery of the building and engineering provisions within projects and schemes with particular emphasis to quality, risk and time.
- To oversee the quality and safety of work on a construction site, making sure that building plans and specifications are being followed correctly.
Duties include:
- Performing regular inspections of the work on site and comparing completed work with drawings and specifications
- Measuring and sampling building materials to check their quality;
- Recording results
- Identifying defects and suggesting ways to correct them
- Liaising with other construction staff, such as contractors, engineers and surveyors
- Ensuring all handover documents (O&M etc.) are to the standard expected
- Monitoring and reporting on Capital Developments progress to the Senior Project Manager
- Undertaking of surveys and produce reports on specified construction issues
- Assist the Estates Development Team (Senior Project Managers) across the full range of their duties.

Formal Qualifications, education & training required
- To have specialist works and building knowledge including legislation to degree level or equivalent and
post graduate knowledge through training or equivalent experience and knowledge. - NEBOSH Certificate in a health and safety related subject.

- IT skills in Microsoft Office Suite.

Essential experience
- Five years’ experience in building services.
- Experience in construction site management.
- In-depth knowledge of the construction industry.
- Sound knowledge of Building Regulations.
