As a result of the acquisition, CPG Europe says it will be able to offer customers both a complete range of mechanical movement joints, and an extensive range of tested and validated fire-stopping systems, including ropes, blankets, and filler boards. The company said: “This acquisition provides our family of brands with the technical expertise to design, specify, and manufacture expansion covers and fire-stopping solutions for horizontal and vertical linear joints to service the needs of the construction market.” CPG says Veda, a brand that has been operating for 30 years, is ‘uniquely positioned’ to service both movement joints and fire barrier solutions, and will become part of the CPG brand portfolio, alongside Nullifire, Flowcrete, Vandex, Tremco, Dryvit, and Nudura.
Veda’s founder and former owner, Georges Gauthier, will continue to lead the company and its 25 employees, who will be taken on by CPG Europe. President of CPG Europe, Richard Hill, said: “With many governments increasing investments in infrastructure projects, the addition of Veda France is timely, and offers an incredible opportunity to leverage its proven portfolio globally through CPG Europe. We look forward to integrating Veda’s trusted line of movement joints and fire-stopping products, which will strengthen our existing portfolio of products and services designed to maintain the six sides of the building’s envelope.”
MD of CPG UK, John Gordon, added: “This is a fantastic opportunity for the UK business, and will allow us to extend our existing offering of mechanical and fire-rated movement joints across our core business segments – Flooring, Car Park Decks, Fire Protection, and Facades. It will also reinforce our technical and specification capabilities in this area.”
He continued: “All the product brands housed within CPG UK cover a wide array of different construction needs, and provide a wealth of complex services, support, and systems rarely found together under one roof. Employees at CPG UK have undergone training to understand the new products now available to us via this acquisition, but will we continue to be supported by the technical experts that join us from VEDA France.”
