Overview
This programme is suitable for Individuals whose work involves the management of in-premise water and the control of waterborne pathogens, the control of waterborne healthcare infections, quality management and laboratory staff in healthcare and non-healthcare environments. It is primarily aimed at covering the theory, purpose and implementation of correct and compliant water sampling including documentation and transport to the accredited laboratories.
Next to the theoretical session, delegates learn in a practical session how to implement sampling correctly and how to complete the required documentation. During the practical session delegates will receive support in both evaluating their existing plans in addition to creating new relevant and robust sampling plans which are specific to their site and the water systems within. No previous engineering, microbiological or water hygiene qualifications or experience is needed as an entry requirement for this course, although some experience of in-premise water systems or waterborne
pathogens is of benefit.
The programme consists of 3 parts: a 4 x hour theoretical session, followed by a 3 x hour practical session and a 0.5 x hour exam assessment. In most cases clients request a full day’s programme to be completed. The combination of theoretical and practical approach within the programme allows Delegates to gain practical experience and implement the procedures and recommendations presented during the theoretical session. The entire training course will be delivered by a Harper Water training facilitator, the delegate must have completed the course and returned a completed assessment with a >65% pass mark to be successful.
