The hospital will ‘bring together the unique offerings’ of its three partners: Cambridge University Hospitals, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust, and the University of Cambridge. The project partners say it will be the first hospital ‘designed to truly integrate mental and physical health provision so that young people and their families experience complete and seamless care according to their individual needs’. This will be ‘underpinned by world-class research in child health and genomics’.
Daniel Easthope, MD for Property UK & Europe for Consult at Mace, said: “We are delighted to be supporting delivery of this landmark scheme. The Cambridge Children’s Hospital will be a world-leading institution, and its successful development will require a combination of Mace’s global experience with our team’s local understanding. The opportunity it will create to support children and young people in the region is significant, providing a new model of care that will treat the person, not just the illness. We can’t wait to get started.”
