Dear Colleague,
It is with the greatest pleasure that I write to you today to inform you of the official publication of our NHS Estates and Facilities Workforce Action Plan.
It is apt that we are publishing this on the first National Healthcare Estates and Facilities Day, a day that brings us together as a profession. I’d like to extend my thanks to the professional bodies for leading this initiative which my team and I wholeheartedly support.
This action plan sets out in practical terms what NHS England will do to grow, develop and support our EFM colleagues across the country, at all levels and stages of their career, whether in-house or outsourced.
As we start to rebuild and recover from the past two years, the wellbeing of our workforce will be paramount, as will ensuring we have the right people, with the right skills, in the right place, at the right time.
To this end we have set out four key priority areas:
- Improve the health and wellbeing of our people
- Embed equality, diversity and inclusion
- Develop our people
- Build the next generation of EFM people
I would like to take this opportunity to offer my deepest thanks to all of you who have taken the time to help us shape this important milestone document, which will form the cornerstone of much of our work for the years to come.
I hope you welcome this plan and encourage you to promote it through your networks and channels.
