The training specialist said: “With this year coinciding with IHEEM’s 80th anniversary, the week of 9 October became a week of celebrations, networking, and – of course – important conversations and conference sessions delivered by those at the forefront of their fields within estates and facilities. We were proud to sponsor and speak at IHEEM’s 80th Birthday Celebration. The casual evening drinks reception at the Science and Industry Museum saw our MD, Gary Cooper, as one of three guest speakers.
“A fabulous menu of canapes and complimentary drinks was served to over 300 guests. Lauren Ryall-Waite, Head Curator at the Science and Industry Museum, gave an opening address, highlighting the Museum’s history, and the history of some of the machinery and technology on display, and welcomed all to explore the exhibits and take in some of the demonstrations on offer.
“IHEEM’s CEO, Peter Sellars, delivered a speech looking back at IHEEM’s 80-year history, and ahead to the Institute’s future – with work under way to improve and bring up to date IHEEM’s head office, to match the industry-leading work that the organisation does.
“Gary Cooper was then invited to the stage, where he highlighted the synergy between IHEEM’s 80-year journey, and our own history, which began in 2007 at our James Street premises. We presented a quick, whistle-stop tour of our history in a video, which you can view below. Gary then added some more context, reflecting on his 10 years with the company, and giving some insights into what is to come for PPL Training in the coming months and years.
PPL Training continued: “Our involvement in IHEEM’s birthday celebrations didn’t end there. Once the dust had settled on a successful evening, the next two days – 10 and 11 October – brought further opportunities for celebration and gratitude. IHEEM’s members, Healthcare Estates visitors, and other exhibitors, were offered the chance to share their messages of goodwill, and – thanks to IHEEM – by visiting the PPL Training stand, to leave a message in IHEEM’s (very large) birthday card. It was fantastic to see visitors writing in the card over the course of the two-day event, and even better to visit the other exhibitors and discuss what was an incredibly successful event for many. In a rare instance, we were also able to surprise Pete Sellars, with the presentation of the card to he and the whole IHEEM team by our sales director, Jonathan Eland, which took place on the stage of the Keynote Theatre.
“We would like to thank Tania Davies, Alison Ryan, and the rest of the IHEEM team, for getting on board with our efforts to help IHEEM celebrate its fantastic milestone, and for allowing us on stage to present the card, and some champagne, to they and their team.
Congratulations, IHEEM on 80 years, and here’s to the next 80!”
