The webinar, titled ‘Critical Ventilation Validation & Sustainability Strategy. Considerations for Construction, Handover & Clinical Use’, will be presented by Howorth Service & Aftersales Technical manager, Mike Dunne (pictured), and among the topics covered will be:
Ventilation system design and commissioning for validation in accordance with HTM 03-01 Part A and BSRIA BG49:2015;
Air-handling units and what options are available;
Room pressures and air change rates (including a look at what tests should be carried out, and the calculations behind air change rates);
The importance of getting validation right, and why ventilation is so important in healthcare;
Sustainability and control strategy for healthcare installations.
Howorth said: “Throughout 2023 Howorth Air Technology saw a significant increase in requests for its expertise in critical ventilation systems from right across the healthcare sector.
2023 was also the year we held the highest-attended HEJ webinar, and with the feedback from that session, plus the professional experiences from the last calendar year, we are back again to take an in-depth look at the key ventilation issues in healthcare settings.”
Mike Dunne graduated with a First Class Honours Building Services and Sustainable Engineering Degree last Summer. A Fellow of IHEEM, contributor to HTM 03, and a member of multiple engineering institutes, he heads up the Technical Validation Team at Howorth, and says he is ‘extremely passionate about reducing consumption within the healthcare sector, and ensuring that ventilation systems are correctly designed, validated, and managed through their lifecycle.”
